What are you doing the summer of 2014? If your answer is staying at home, think again. This August, Arrowmen, Scouts, and Venturers will converge on Mt. Rainier National Park and the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest for an unforgettable week of service and fellowship. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will allow you to meet passionate and committed people from around the nation and pay it forward to one of the Pacific Northwest’s most iconic landmarks.
Hosted by T’Kope Kwiskwis Lodge of the Order of the Arrow, ArrowCorps2014 is an experience like no other. Based at Camp Sheppard, trail crews will complete a variety of trail projects under the direction of land management personnel and skilled youth and adult leaders. Participants will have the chance to practice expedition leadership, trail skills, and wilderness ethics while immersing themselves in the story of our national public lands. In an expedition setting, crew members gain self-confidence and outdoor skills, all the while learning lessons they can take back home. As a result, they come back better prepared to lead themselves and others in their families, schools, and communities. They become more active, engaged members of their lodges, their chapters, and their units. This exciting opportunity is open to all Arrowmen, Boy Scouts, and Venturers meeting criteria for participation in high adventure activities.
Adult association is an essential part of the Scouting experience, and committed, dedicated people like you fit the bill to ensure that youth get the most out of the week. During the event, adults will serve in a variety of roles, including crew advisers, cooks, drivers, and logisticians. We are also looking for adults with unique skills and and backgrounds, including photography, forestry, wilderness education, and wilderness medicine. If you’re interested, we want to hear from you.
See YOU on the Mountain this summer!
